The fast-paced rhythm of ‘Jwala- Flame of Forest’, the opening piece by renowned violinist M. Lalitha, literally set the stage on fire at ‘Cosmic Strings’, a trans global fusion concert, held at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex here, on Sunday.
After her captivating rendering in Hemavathi Raga, the audience were caught with the swaying movement of peacock with her next track ‘Dancing Beauty’.
Then, the audience were taken back in time to the tune of gypsies with Flamenco Guitar maestro Miguel Czachowski. Flamengo music from Andasula in Spain with its energetic staccato style was a new experience to the music lovers in the city.
The audience was in an ecstatic mood when both the artistes appeared on stage together.
“I am attracted towards Indian music, especially Carnatic music. The music I play has a lot of Indian and gypsy elements from across the world,” explained Mr. Czachowski.
The concert was a musical conversation involving Indian, Jazz, Flamenco, Wets Asian, Korean, Hungarian and folk traditions from across the world.
Ms. Lalitha said that the tracks were planned to suit the interests of music lovers in the city while presenting them a novel musical experience.
Mr. Czachowski, who plays both traditional and contemporary Flamenco, had performed all over Poland and in many foreign countries. Ms. Lalitha known for her firm adherence to tradition has also performed in a number of countries.
The artistes were accompanied by Cress David on keyboard, Venkataramani on mridangam/kanjoira/konnakol and Maynard Grant on drums/
The concert was jointly organised by CODISSIA and Sri Krishna Sweets in association with The Hindu.
